About Admission Cell

The Admission Cell at Dr. Samuel George Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is a dedicated unit responsible for managing and facilitating the entire admission process for B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy, and Ph.D. programs offered by the institution. The Cell ensures that the admission process is conducted transparently, efficiently, and in strict compliance with the regulations of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Government of Andhra Pradesh and the affiliating university guidelines.

The Cell serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students and parents, providing guidance, counseling, and updated information about admission procedures, eligibility criteria, fee structures, and available scholarship opportunities.

Courses Offered

  • B. Pharmacy (Bachelor of Pharmacy – 4 years)
  • M. Pharmacy (Master of Pharmacy – 2 years)
    • Specializations: Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis
  • Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Full-time / Part-time)

Objectives of the Admission Cell

  • To ensure a smooth, merit-based, and transparent admission process for all programs.
  • To disseminate updated information regarding eligibility, admission schedules, entrance tests, and seat allotment.
  • To provide career counseling and academic guidance to prospective students and their parents.
  • To assist students in application form submission, document verification, and registration procedures.
  • To coordinate with the affiliating university and relevant regulatory bodies during the admission process.

Functions of the Admission Cell

  • Announcing admission notifications, entrance exam schedules, and application deadlines on the website and notice boards.
  • Receiving and verifying application forms along with supporting documents.
  • Conducting admission counseling sessions and providing course information to applicants.
  • Maintaining records of admitted students and preparing merit lists based on eligibility and entrance ranks.
  • Assisting students in fee payment and online/offline registration procedures.
  • Coordinating with university and government admission authorities for centralized counselling and seat allotments (if applicable).
  • Addressing student queries related to admission, eligibility, scholarships, and academic regulations.

Admission Process

B. Pharmacy

  • Admission through EAMCET counseling conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Convener Quota (70%) and Management quota (30%) as per regulations.

M. Pharmacy

  • Admission through GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Attitude Test) / PGECET (Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test) counseling
  • Convener Quota (70%) and Management quota (30%)  as per regulations.

Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences

  • Admissions to the Doctoral (Ph.D.) Program are made through the Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test (APRCET).
  • Admission is subject to the availability of approved Ph.D. supervisors/guides at the institute at the time of admission.
