About Academic Audit Cell
The Academic Audit Cell at Dr. Samuel George Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences functions as an internal quality assurance mechanism to evaluate and enhance the academic standards, teaching-learning practices, and research output within the institution. It is an essential component of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and serves to periodically review the academic and administrative performance of departments, faculty, and students to ensure continuous academic improvement and regulatory compliance.
The Academic Audit Cell systematically assesses academic practices, identifies areas for enhancement, and facilitates quality benchmarks in alignment with the guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), UGC and affiliating university regulations.
Objectives of the Academic Audit Cell
- To assess and improve the quality of teaching-learning, evaluation, and research activities in the institution.
- To ensure adherence to academic calendars, course plans, and regulatory frameworks.
- To evaluate the academic performance of departments, faculty members, and students.
- To recommend corrective and preventive actions for identified gaps in academic operations.
- To promote accountability, academic discipline, and innovation in teaching-learning practices.
- To support continuous quality improvement in academic infrastructure, resources, and outcomes.
Functions of the Academic Audit Cell
- Conducting internal academic audits of all departments and teaching-learning practices at regular intervals.
- Reviewing compliance with academic calendars, lesson plans, and syllabi coverage.
- Evaluating student performance in internal and external examinations, attendance, and project work.
- Assessing faculty participation in academic activities like research, publications, FDPs, workshops, and conferences.
- Verifying maintenance of teaching-learning records such as attendance registers, course files, internal marks records, and feedback reports.
- Preparing academic audit reports and submitting recommendations to the Principal and IQAC for corrective action and policy revisions.
