About Examination Cell
The Examination cell is a core academic unit of the institution responsible for the conduct, coordination, and administration of all internal and external examinations. It operates under the guidance of the Controller of Examinations (CoE) and in accordance with the regulations of the affiliating university and relevant statutory bodies such as UGC and PCI.
The exam cell ensures the integrity, confidentiality, and fairness of all examination-related processes, while facilitating smooth evaluation and timely declaration of results.
Objectives
- To conduct examinations in a systematic, transparent, and efficient manner.
- To maintain strict confidentiality and academic integrity in all exam-related activities.
- To ensure compliance with university norms, ordinances, and academic calendars.
- To provide student-friendly services related to registration, hall tickets, marksheets, and revaluation.
Major Functions
- Planning and scheduling of internal assessments, university semester exams, and practical/viva examinations.
- Preparation of exam timetables, invigilation duty charts and seating arrangements.
- Issuing hall tickets/admit cards and exam notifications.
- Receiving and dispatching question papers and answer booklets securely.
- Coordination with university authorities for exam registration, conduct, and result processing.
- Facilitating revaluation, recounting, improvement exams, and issuing of provisional certificates.
- Maintaining records of exam attendance, performance analysis, and result statistics.
Types of Examinations
- Internal Examinations
- Class tests, unit tests, mid-term exams, and model exams conducted by the institution.
- University Examinations
- Semester-end theory and practical exams as per university schedule and syllabus.
- Supplementary/Backlog Exams
- For students who have failed or missed previous attempts.
- Revaluation and Recounting
- As per university rules, students can apply for revaluation or recounting of marks.
Exam Guidelines for Students
- Students must carry hall tickets and valid ID cards to enter the examination hall.
- Use of unfair means or malpractice will lead to strict disciplinary action.
- Late entry is not permitted beyond 30 minutes after the exam begins.
- Students must follow seating plans and invigilator instructions strictly.
- Electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, calculators (if not permitted), and smart watches, are strictly prohibited.
- Answer booklets must be submitted before leaving the hall.
Confidentiality and Integrity
The Examination Section ensures:
- Sealed question paper handling, secure printing and storage.
- Use of barcoded answer scripts, if applicable.
- Strict invigilation, flying squads, and surveillance during exams.
- Record-keeping of results in a secure, verifiable format.
Result Declaration
- Results are declared in accordance with the university’s timeline.
- Marksheets, provisional certificates, and consolidated grade sheets are issued after university authentication.
- Students may approach the exam cell for transcripts, migration certificates, or duplicate documents if needed.
