About the Grievance Redressal Committee

The Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) at Dr. Samuel George Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences has been constituted in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) to address and resolve grievances raised by students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders in a fair, impartial, and timely manner.

The committee aims to uphold a transparent, harmonious, and responsive academic environment where grievances related to academics, administration, hostel, campus facilities, harassment, or any other concern are promptly acknowledged and resolved with sensitivity and confidentiality.

Objectives of the Grievance Redressal Committee

  • To provide an effective mechanism for redressing grievances of students, faculty, and staff.
  • To promote a responsible, supportive, and peaceful campus atmosphere.
  • To ensure transparency in institutional processes by addressing complaints related to academic, administrative, examination, or other matters.
  • To uphold dignity, fairness, and impartiality in grievance resolution.
  • To facilitate direct access to concerned authorities for grievance redressal without fear or bias.

Functions of the Committee

  • To receive, examine, and resolve grievances submitted by students, staff, and stakeholders.
  • To review complaints related to academic processes, admissions, fee-related issues, examination-related grievances, hostel and campus facilities, harassment, and other welfare matters.
  • To maintain confidentiality and impartiality while handling complaints.
  • To conduct inquiry meetings as necessary for fair grievance redressal.
  • To recommend corrective measures and disciplinary action, if applicable, to the Principal for approval and implementation.
  • To maintain a grievance register and submit periodic reports to the institutional authorities.

Types of Grievances Addressed

  • Academic issues (attendance, internal marks, exam grievances)
  • Admission-related complaints
  • Hostel facilities and accommodation issues
  • Fee-related queries and disputes
  • Harassment, including gender-related or psychological harassment
  • Infrastructure and campus facility complaints
  • Any other welfare-related issues

Complaint Submission Process

Grievances can be submitted through:

  • Written applications to the Grievance Redressal Committee
  • Dedicated grievance drop boxes placed at strategic locations on campus
  • Direct reporting to any committee member

All complaints will be acknowledged within 3 working days and resolved within 15 working days from the date of receipt.

Assurance of Confidentiality and Fairness

  • The Grievance Redressal Committee ensures that all grievances are handled with utmost confidentiality, impartiality, and respect for the complainant’s dignity.
  • No complainant will be discriminated against or penalized for submitting a genuine grievance.
